Ten Things I Can't Stop Thinking About from June
What I highlighted, held onto, and kept coming back to in June.
Each month, I gather the things that stuck with me—the ones I’m still talking about, still turning over in my mind. A quote I scribbled down, a podcast I replayed, a summer staple I’ll keep reaching for. Some are small joys, others feel like gentle nudges toward something deeper. These are the ten that stayed with me in June. Maybe one or two will stay with you, too.
1. Staying in Balance While Traveling
I love summer travel—the change of scenery, the new inspiration, and the chance to be somewhere beautiful. But I’ll be honest: it also throws me off. I’m someone who thrives on routine and structure, and being away from my usual rhythm is still a work in progress. This month, I kept coming back to a quote by Pico Iyer: “Movement is only as good as the sense of stillness that goes with it.” It helped me remember that even when everything around me shifts, I can still carry a bit of calm within.
2. Sophie Paterson Academy
One of my favorite designers—and a longtime friend—just launched her own interior design course, and it’s everything I hoped it would be. Generous, in-depth, and refreshingly transparent, Sophie shares her hard-earned knowledge without gatekeeping. Whether you're in the industry or just design-curious, it's a treasure trove.
3. Cuyana Classic Easy Tote
I’ve been a longtime fan of Cuyana—a brand rooted in timeless design, intentional living, and fewer, better things. Their pieces always strike the right balance of quality and quiet sophistication. As a mom of three (and someone who likes to be very prepared), I’m always on the hunt for a tote that can handle it all while still looking chic. This one does the job beautifully. Roomy, structured, and elegant—I love it in the stone shade for summer.
4. A Thank You—and a Favorite Design Read
Launching this Substack, A Room of Her Own, this month has felt like opening a door to a more personal side of myself—beyond the projects I’m working on or what I share on Instagram. I’m so grateful for the kind support, and I hope you’ve been enjoying what’s beginning to take shape here. In that spirit, I wanted to share a design Substack I’ve been loving: RAD Minimag by Chloe Warner. Her writing is whip-smart, funny, and full of heart, and if you’re a design lover, you’ll soak up every single detail she shares.
5. Wonderskin Lip Stain
I’m a makeup girl through and through—doing my face in the morning feels like a fun, creative little ritual. This lip stain has quickly become a new go-to. Most lip colors disappear so fast, but this one actually stays—through coffee, meals, everything. The color is pretty, it wears evenly, and it makes me feel a little more pulled together without thinking about it again all day. It’s such an easy win in my makeup routine.
6. Diary of a CEO Podcast: Ramit Sethi Episode
I listened to this earlier in June, even though it originally aired in 2024, and it’s stayed with me. I’m a longtime fan of both the podcast and Ramit—together they offer so much clarity around money and mindset. He talks about defining your rich life—whatever that means to you—and I really resonate with his practical, abundance-driven approach. Financial literacy feels especially important for women, and this conversation is a powerful reminder of that.
7. Supergut Fiber Supplement
Lately, I’ve been focused on feeling my best, and this has earned a spot in my daily supplement mix this month. I’m not much of a breakfast person—most mornings it’s just two cups of coffee with almond milk (one regular, one decaf). I stir this into the second cup, and it makes it creamy, satisfying, and surprisingly filling. It’s an easy way to sneak in some extra fiber, and it keeps me going until late breakfast or early lunchtime. I also love the travel packs.
8. This Poetic Belgian Countryside Home by Axel Vervoordt
I stumbled on this dreamy house earlier this month and it’s been on my mind ever since. Designed by Axel Vervoordt (for his nephew’s family) just outside Antwerp, it’s a quiet, wabi-sabi masterpiece built from feeling, not rules. Axel is a design legend—known for his soulful, minimalist aesthetic and his ability to create spaces that feel both ancient and alive. The reclaimed beams, lime-washed walls, and moody, low-framed windows are all stunning—but it’s the soft blue kitchen that completely stole my heart.
9. Monday Swimwear
I’m writing this from Martha’s Vineyard, just about to head to the beach—so this one’s top of mind. My go-to suit lately is the Monday Swimwear Cala top paired with the Sorrento bottom. I have it in four prints (yes, really—that’s how much I love it), but this one gets compliments every time. The high waist is smoothing in all the right ways, and the high-cut leg keeps it modern and flattering. Trust me on this one.
10. Saltyface Daily Sun Shield
With summer in full swing, this feels especially timely—but the truth is, I wear sunscreen on my face 365 days a year. I’ve tried so many mineral options over the years, and this one is a new favorite. It’s lightweight, non-greasy, and doesn’t leave that chalky white cast so many mineral formulas do. It wears beautifully under makeup, but also gives a nice finish on bare skin. And yes, I love the packaging too—simple, well-designed, and makes the routine feel just a little more elevated. (I’ve linked the rest of my skincare staples here, if you’re curious.
